Thank you to NetGalley Penguin Group Young Readers for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

There is a small town in Florida called Mount Orange that is making money off the murders of Bailey and Celeste with their morbid and grim town shops. It seems to have become a tourist attraction.

The main character Tru, is the sister of Bailey. She has nonstop dreams of her and how she may have died. Rio is a podcaster who comes into town to try and solve this long-unsolved mystery.

Tru feels this pull toward Rio so she joins her on this search to get to the bottom of the murder. They believe it is The Reaper who did the killings but Tru’s boss John Boy says it had to be an amateur. However, you can tell that he knows more about the situation since he keeps trying to veer Rio and Tru off the right path.

East is Tru’s boyfriend whom she has known since they were in the third grade. They should be going off to college but Tru never filled out the FSU application. I did like East, I thought he was always looking out for her but you can tell that Tru wasn’t happy with her life, she wanted more and wanted to try and figure it out.

Could Rio and Tru really be Bailey and Celeste reincarnated? Rio has had a very vivid memory since she was born.

This is a good mystery with many twists and some paranormal elements to it.

Final Score: 4/5
