This is my favorite book by Kiersten Modglin so far. I feel like I always like her books and they just fall a little short of me saying I love it, not this time. I loved The Stranger.

This book is told from three points of view. In the present time, you have Tibby and Walker, and then there is “before” that is from the killer’s point of view.

During a bad snowstorm Walker is driving and sees Tibby walking. He can see Tibby is not equipped to be walking in this snow storm and he tries his best to help her. Tibby is mysterious and is hard to trust as the reader. Walker. Was too nice and also came off as hard to trust for me and I loved that.

The storm takes away all forms of communications and with roads being inaccessible they find themselves at a motel. The whole book has a tense feeling to it but when we get to the motel it amplifies.

With every chapter from the killer’s point of view you get little bits of information that point you to think it is certain characters and when it finally comes to a head I didn’t see it coming the way it played out.

This is a super fast read that I could not recommend more.

Final score: 5/5
