My go-to genre is not usually cozy mysteries but for some reason, Peril In Pink just called to me. Aside from being a cozy mystery, this was also a locked room mystery which is a sub genre that I typically do enjoy.
Jessica is opening a bed and breakfast and has her famous musician ex-boyfriend Lars booked to perform at the opening. A lot goes on quickly which starts with someone else performing and then the death of Lars’ manager/stepdad. Lars looks like the prime suspect but Jessica doesn’t want to believe that. Jessica is deep into the investigation when another body is found and this body continues to make Lars look like he is guilty.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish but felt it lacked twists. Locked room mysteries typically have an unbelievable twist, but Peril in Pink just gets solved, with no real twist.
If you’re a fan of cozy or locked room mysteries then this is one that I would recommend.
Final score: 4/5
