Off the Map is a cute romance story that will definitely bring a tear to your eye. The story follows Carla who is traveling to Ireland for her best friend’s wedding. Carla is supposed to be picked up by the best man Eamon but they end up meeting at a bar instead. They are just supposed to drive across Ireland to the wedding, nothing more, but they both get so much more. n

Carla is struggling the whole story. She doesn’t want to find someone and settle down despite how Eamon makes her feel. Her dad is struggling with dementia and she doesn’t want to do that to anyone so she shuts out most people. Carla’s dad “Biggie” didn’t want Carla to see his health deteriorate so he told her to keep traveling the world. It took her six years before she finally went home.

I am fortunate to not have to be dealing with this with a parent. It blew my mind that she loves her dad so much but can go so long without seeing him. Her relationship with her dad shaped her entire life. All I wanted was for Carla to go home to her dad and be happy. She was convinced she couldn’t have both. All I wanted was for her to have both and I felt there was a way. n

I did not expect where the story went and it definitely got me to tear up. It had excellent writing and strong characters. I definitely recommend this one. n
