Review: Meet Me At The Lake
Book: Meet Me At The Lake
n
Author: Carley Fortune
Fern and Will have this one unforgettable night in the city, it was magic. They then agree to meet at the lake at Fern’s mom’s resort one year later. Will doesn’t show and it was heartbreaking for Fern. n

The story goes back and forth from 10 years ago to the present time. I think both timelines worked well together. I loved seeing how magical their one day was in the city. The present timeline was tough on Fern. Her mother passes away and she is left to handle the resort. The resort that she never wanted any part of.

One day, a guest checks into the hotel which turns out to be Will and you see the chemistry return between both characters. I liked that both characters still had a special place for each other in their hearts.

The side characters were so great in this book! Her ex-boyfriend Jamie had some great moments. I also loved Peter and her best friend Whitney. They all added something special to the story.

Meet me at the lake is out now! Go check it out.

Last week we attended an author event with Carley Fortune at the cutest bookshop, The Little Point Bookshop in Point Pleasent New Jersey.

It was so much fun. Carley spoke about her writing process and what she was going through while writing Meet Me At The Lake. She also hinted at her third novel coming out next year!n

She also answered a variety of questions like who her favorite character is, what Taylor Swift era each of her books were like, and even who her favorite author is. She also told us she has a playlist for both of her books. Explaining that “Summer Time Sadness” by Lana Del Ray best describes Meet Me At The Lake. n
We also had the opportunity to meet, take pictures and get our books signed. She was such a sweetheart. n
The Little Point Bookshop is located in Point Pleasant NJ. The shop is adorable and you can really see that the owner loves what she does. The event was perfectly done. They also had snacks and fruit for us as we waited to meet Carley and nothing felt rushed. We will definitely be back there, hopefully for another event!
