Kristen’s Review:

nn

I loved this book so much!

nn

It has everything from love, loss, friendship, and finding family. n

n

Sadie is an artist that has been going through a tough time when suddenly she ends up in the hospital needing immediate brain surgery. This is all happening during one of the most important career moments of her life. n

n

She is a finalist in the North American Portrait Society competition. She has to have her portrait done a few weeks before the competition. She wakes up from the surgery not being able to see faces. They come up jumbled for her. She can see everything just fine, only faces.n

n

This forces her to rely on her other senses to feel people’s emotions and realize who they are. It really makes you look at life differently.

nn

During this time you see her fall madly in love with her dog’s vet as well as Joe in the building.

nn

She has been through so much and she is such a good person that it made you want to give her a hug. n

n

All of the characters were fantastic. Well except for her evil step-sister Parker but everyone else were great supporting characters. My favorite had to be Mr. And Mrs. Kim. I loved how they became a found family for Sadie. n

n

Also; the twist at the end was perfection! Such a great story.

Final Score: 5/5

Brian’s Review:

nn

Hello Stranger is a book that I should have disliked. It has so many aspects of other stories that I never like. For some reason, it all worked for me here and I enjoyed this book.

nn

The story follows Sadie. Sadie is suffering from facial blindness after having brain surgery. She can see everything clearly except for people’s faces. The writing around this was so well done. I liked how Sadie would adapt and learn and I love the way it was all described.n

n

Sadie refuses to ask for help even in the shape she is in, she does not want to admit she needs anyone. That’s when her neighbor Joe comes in and breaks down her walls and starts to help her. I liked watching their relationship grow throughout the story. Joe has been through so much but he remains to be an example of what we should all try to be.n

n

The ending was so obvious and honestly so stupid but that didn’t mean I didn’t like it. It opens up so many questions and possible inconsistencies but I just didn’t care I was happy with where everyone ended up. Definitely check out this one.n

Final Score 4/5
