Review: Gears of War 3
Having never played Gears of War 3 I was definitely anticipating seeing where it goes from all the improvements made in Gears of War 2.

I am absolutely blown away. I am blown away that I somehow never played this game, that I somehow never got spoiled on this game and I’m blown away by just how good this game is.

I loved every moment. The shooting is mostly unchanged but with some minor improvements to how the guns feel. The biggest change is the ability to aim down sights with some guns.

I don’t know if this was just a me problem this time around but I found myself actually having an ammo shortage in this game. I actually enjoyed that aspect. It added to the already intense game and made me use weapons I wouldn’t normally.n
The story is really front and center in this game. The first game’s story was almost nonexistent, in the second game there was more but not enough. Now there is a lot of it and it’s all fantastic. n
You get to play as both Marcus and Cole and you are trying to find Marcus’ father to save the day and end this war for good.

This story was an emotional roller coaster. Make sure you bring some tissues with you for the ride.

There is now a new enemy to fight with a lot of variation. The new enemies are called Glowies. With the added variety of Glowies there are still Locusts to fight so the enemy variety is the highest it’s been.

This game was a perfect game for me and I’m actually afraid to continue with the series. The original trilogy ended so well that I don’t want to see them ruin it. Even though I’m scared to be disappointed I can’t wait to keep going.

This is the best game in the series and one of the best games I have played. I can’t believe this is an old game. It looks and plays like a modern masterpiece. If you have not played this game you owe it to yourself. n
