I want to start off by making something clear. The main character Kat has to deal with a lot of scenarios that no one should deal with. I think this character is immature and has a lot of character flaws but I don’t want my issues with her to be taken as I feel she brought these events on herself. No one deserves what she had to go through and no one brings that on themself.
nn
With that out of the way Double-Decker Dreams was a book that I really disliked but then came around on by the end. I did not like the book because of the main character Kat, in the end, I liked the book in spite of Kat.
nn
The story follows Kat and her unlikely love story with Rory. Rory is the only reason why I came around on this book in the end.

During the first quarter of this book I was thinking about not even finishing. I have never not finished a book I received for review. This was close to being the first one. Kat spots a man on a double-decker bus and becomes infatuated with him. She gives him a name and a backstory and then hopelessly falls in love with him. In my opinion, this is not normal behavior for a 31-year-old. Kat is someone who is extremely successful in her professional life and then her personal life is this ridiculous. I was just getting angrier and angrier the more in love she got with the story of this “prince”.
nn
She finally goes on the bus to meet him and he turns out to be an American just like her and Kat immediately seems to not even want to be bothered with him. This man she doesn’t know did not fulfill the giant shoes of this fake person she made up and she was immediately mad about it. My frustration with Kat lasted for the entire book. n
n
Rory on the other hand was selfless and just an amazing person. At first, I did not want him with Kat because he is way too good for her. When I started to see his feelings I came around and wanted what he wanted. If it were not for Rory I do not think I would have finished this book.

Kat moves to London for six months for a work assignment. She was working from home one day when she looked out the window and saw her dream guy on a double-decker bus. n
n
Once she saw him she spiraled into this dream fantasy about the guy. It got to be too much at times. She consumed her life around this dream guy that she named Alexander. She never met him but was planning their entire life together.n
n
One day she got the nerve to go on the bus to meet him. Once we learn his name is Rory and he is nothing like her dream fantasy “Alexander” she was over him. I found that to be a bit rude because she wanted no part of this guy. I love that he was a teacher from the same hometown of Michigan that she was.
nn
Rory was the nicest guy and I loved learning more about him. I had a hard time with Kat at the beginning of their friendship, but I love that she finally moved past her fantasy to see true love staring at her in the face.
