Review: 50 Cent Bulletproof
50 Cent Bulletproof is a game I remember fondly and replaying over and over. After playing it again now I’m not too sure why I couldn’t get enough of this game.

Nothing about this game is above average but there is plenty about this game that is below average. The only thing that would have been great at the time was all the music video unlocks. Now with YouTube and everything being one click away, this is no longer a feature we need.

For its time the game looked pretty good and 50 Cent did look like himself but that’s really the only positive I can say here. n
The voice acting is absolutely horrible. 50 Cent, Eminem, and Dr. Dre all sound like robotic versions of themselves. I do not mean the quality of the recording, I mean the way they recorded their lines. It was cringy. The only time that 50’s character sounded passable was during narration sequences.

The gameplay is mediocre at best. The shooting didn’t feel right, the cover mechanics didn’t feel intuitive, and moving around never felt natural. And you will be moving around a lot. Just about every level has you finding multiple of something. No indicators to help you just wander around the similar looking rooms aimlessly until you find it.

Playing this game I really can’t see what I loved when I was younger. Some games do not hold up but you can see what was special for the time. 50 Cent Bulletproof I can’t see what made it special.

I also was a big fan of 50 Cents music, while I do understand hardware limitations I feel they could have done a better job at implanting music into the gameplay. Hearing the same instrumentals over and over got old quickly.

I remember really loving the sequel to this game on PS3. Playing this made me scared to replay the sequel. Well, a little preview/spoiler. I’m playing the sequel now and it is actually way better than I remember.

Verdict
nn
50 Cent Bulletproof was a game I played over and over when I was younger. As an adult, I don’t know why I wasted my time on this. Nothing is redeeming about this game. If you have fond memories of this game, keep them as memories and don’t try to relive your childhood. n
