Book: The Twelve Dates of Christmas

Author: Jenny Bayliss

Kate Turner is over dating and relationships. Somehow her best friend gets her to participate in a holiday dating event called the Twelve Dates of Christmas. Here she will be going on twelve dates. We are along for the ride with each date and each date is just worse than the next. Kate deals with men who do not shower to men who leave her because they feel a better connection with someone else before even having the date with Kate.

Her friend Matt owns a bakery and she is always in there dropping off goodies and updating him on her dates. I liked Matt, he gave me Luke from Gilmore Girls vibes. His one-liners kept me laughing throughout the entire book. The book is very detailed and it helps you to visualize each date.

I gave it three stars because I had a hard time getting into some dates. The chapters were on the long side and that led to the story being too long. I wish this was a little shorter and some of the dates could have been quicker.

Final Score: 3/5
