The Pucking Proposal is the second book in the Maple Creek series. The first book follows Hope Barlow, and this book follows her sister, Joy. Even though this is the second book in the series, it works just fine as a stand-alone. I did not read the first book.
This is a hockey romance between the team’s goalie and the local sports reporter who happens to be the sister of the center on the hockey team. I love sports romances, especially hockey. This one was just more spicy than I was expecting.
The premise was that Joy saw Dalton’s penis before a game, and then he had a great game and the team won. He approached Joy about making that a pregame ritual so he could keep playing well and winning. It was an odd way to start their relationship.
I mentioned it is spicy. I am not a prude and have read my share of spicy books, but this one just felt a little out of place, and I’m not sure why. I also feel like I know more about Dalton’s penis than my own, and that’s strange.
In the end, I liked both Joy and Dalton as characters, and I liked them together. Their story was charming and interesting. I just wish it was less about Dalton’s package.
If you love sports romances and spicy stories, then look no further.
