Book Review: Nothing Like The Movies
Book: Nothing Like The Movies
Author: Lynn Painter
Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
I recently read Better Than the Movies and fell in love with Wes and Liz. I was so happy to see we got another book about them! I will admit this book is a rollercoaster ride!
The story picks up months after the first book and we learn that Wes had to deal with a family tragedy. He quits college and travels back home to handle his loss. During this time he decides to break up with Liz. Liz couldn’t understand why they could not do long distance.
A couple of years later, Wes returns to college and returns to playing baseball. He hasn’t spoken to Liz since the break up, but he is still in love with her and determined to get her back.
This book will give you all the feels especially seeing what both characters go through but it definitely has some laugh out loud moments. I love that Wes doesn’t give up on trying to win Liz over. They easily became one of my favorite book couples.
Final Score: 4/5
