Maybe Meant to Be was a different kind of romance book. I loved the different idea but felt some parts of it were a little on the boring side.
In the eyes of everyone, Sage and Christopher are meant to be. They are best friends and only friends. They both have a secret from everyone. Sage likes Christopher’s twin brother Nick and Christopher likes the new kid at school Luke. I can’t stress enough how much I loved that this was not a typical friends to lovers story, I just wish some of the plot points were a little more interesting.
The book seemed to keep repeating itself with its scenarios. Sage would sneak around with Nick and Christopher would sneak around with Luke.
Luke and Christopher’s relationship was a little hard for me to get on board with. Christopher was not out and Luke was. Christopher wanted to continue to sneak around while Luke wanted it out in the open. Luke forced Christopher to come out and tell his family. No one should be forced to tell their story and I hate that this happened.
I recommend this book for a lot of reasons but mainly because it is such a different story than we usually get. I like it when people take chances and I feel like while this story missed the mark, it was overall still a great experience.
Final Score: 4/5
