Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
Jane Jackson is a former child actor turned creative executive at Clearwater Studios. She is determined to have her project greenlit about a love story. She fibs a little in the meeting, mentioning that musician Jack Quinlan will write a song for the movie. With the help of her rival, Dan Finnegan, a cinematographer, she heads to Long Island to try to track down Jack Quinlan and make it a reality.
They stay at Dan’s family’s house, and that’s where the story really picks up. Dan’s family was my favorite. I loved their banter, and it really helped Jane open up more and become more relaxed. I loved watching Dan and Jane start to fall for one another. Jane’s character had some real growth throughout the story. I loved how she really became herself and didn’t let her past get to her.
A perfect enemies-to-lovers featuring a one-room trope. Definitely add this to your summer reading!
Final Score: 4/5
