This is now my new favorite fall read! It will definitely be a book I reread each fall. Just like Gilmore Girls and all the other fall essentials, If It Makes You Happy will be on that list.

Michelle’s mom has recently passed away, so she has to take over the family bed and breakfast, called Bird & Breakfast, until her sister Sara finishes school and can take over the business. I loved Michelle’s growth throughout the story. She had recently gone through a divorce and was anxious when she arrived in Copper Run. Seeing her confidence in taking over the inn was amazing. Cliff is the town baker and neighbor to Michelle and the inn. Cliff is a single dad of two girls, Brittany and Emily. I love their little family.

This small town is absolutely adorable with such welcoming people. They did everything they could to help Michelle learn about the bed & breakfast. The book is set in the 90s, which made the vibe even better! This is a must-read for anyone who loves cozy small town romances.

If It Makes You Happy is a warm fall hug with all the Gilmore Girls fall vibes!
