He Sees You When You’re Sleeping is a stalker romance that would be a good entry point to the genre of stalker romances. I say that because when it comes to these types of books, things usually get dark, while Alta Hensley may turn off the lights at some points, it never goes full dark. 

Chloe is a fashion influencer with a secret. She also has an account on a site that shows off a sexier, darker side of her. Jack is a fireman and an all-around good guy, except for the fact that he is a stalker. He has been stalking Chloe for two years, and this book starts when they finally start having some interactions, and Jack comes out of the shadows. 

Jack makes an account on the site that Chloe uses to express herself, and they start messaging. Chloe then begins to have feelings for both Jack and this mystery man online. The reader knows both are Jack, and you just can’t wait for it to crash together. 

Once everything comes together, it plays out just as you would expect. Nothing new is really brought to the table for this stalker trope. 

Overall, this is a good book to use as an entry point into the trope of stalker romances. It’s well-written and entertaining, but it lacks the darkness that these books usually have.
