Love love love! This is a perfect retelling of Jane Austin’s Pride and Prejudice but told in a modern way.

The story follows Elizabeth (Lizzy) Bennet from East Hampton. She has worked at the family bakery ever since her dad got sick. She put her life on hold with dreams of going to college to get her master’s degree in Journalism.

Will Darcy is a wealthy New Yorker, out in East Hampton for the summer with his best friend, Charlie. They stop at the bakery the first day they get there and run into Lizzy. Ever since that run-in, Will can’t get her out of his head.

Charlie and Lizzy’s sister, Jane, hit it off immediately. You can feel the sparks flying between them and it has you rooting for them.

Will and Lizzy on the other hand were enemies in the beginning but when they finally got to the next level I was so happy. I loved it when they went surfing every morning.

Overall, I loved all the characters in this book. They all had perfect moments that added to the story. Also, if you read Emma of 83rd Street you will see some characters have returned in this book.

This is an adorable summer romance with a great slow burn that was done perfectly! You will love it even more if you love retellings done the right way.

Final Score: 5/5
