Book: And Then There Was You

Author: Sophie Cousens

Thank you to Putnam and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Chloe Fairway is back to living at home with her parents after dealing with many toxic relationships. She is going through another tough breakup and she feels stuck in life. She is not where she wants to be at 31, in her career or in her relationships.

Her ten-year college reunion is coming up, and she is not looking forward to seeing her former best friend Sean Adler, who, of course, is now a big-time movie director.

One night, she runs into a former coworker who seems so happy. So she tells her about this online dating site where she found her match. Chloe decides to give it a shot, and after a 42-page questionnaire, she has an in-person meeting to meet her match. She meets Rob, who is essentially her perfect match. Just one catch, he is an AI humanoid bot. Rob can do just about anything a human does. I found that storyline a bit odd.

I really liked Chloe as a character, and I loved watching her grow; that was one of the main reasons I kept reading the story. Plus, anything Sophie Cousens writes is always perfectly written; it was just the AI storyline that was a little odd to me.

Final Score 3/5
