Book Review: The Fair Weather Friend
Book: The Fair Weather Friend
Author: Jessie Garcia
Thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio, for an advanced audio copy.
The Fair Weather Friend is an excellent thriller filled with twists and turns that I mostly did not see coming. A well-loved TV meteorologist goes missing, and then the next day is found dead. What follows is a steady flow of secrets and twists that lead to what I felt was a shocking ending.
I listened to the audiobook. The narration was excellent; however, this book follows multiple characters and multiple POVs, which were a little hard to follow given the audio structure. I often found myself confused about who’s who among the characters tied up in a lot of the story. The story was so good that even with the confusion, I was so invested.
Faith is the meteorologist who goes missing. She seems perfect from the outside, but of course, nothing is as it seems. I loved as more and more layers got peeled away from Faith until you saw her true self.
This is a story where really no characters are likable, but that works to its advantage as you go on this journey of finding out who Faith is and what happened to her.
I loved Jesse Garcia’s other book, The Business Trip. Now, with loving this book, I can say I am a fan, and I cannot wait for the next one.
Final score: 4/5
