Book Review: Secret Nights and Northern Lights
Book: Secret Nights and Northern Lights
Author: Megan Oliver
Thank you so much, Berkley, for the gifted copy!
I read this book at the perfect time! The other night, I saw the Northern Lights from my own backyard, and it was absolutely gorgeous.
Now, for this story: Mona Miller and Benjamin Carter were childhood best friends—and first loves—until a falling out pulled them apart.
Fast forward to the present: Mona works for a travel magazine and dreams of landing bigger assignments. She’s tired of covering small-town festivals, but as a people pleaser, she keeps doing them to avoid causing any problems.
Everything changes when her boss assigns her an international trip to Iceland—starting next week. There is a big catch: the photographer joining her is none other than Benjamin. On top of the assignment, her boss also wants her to convince him to join the team and work for them. As the story unfolds, we learn what happened between them and how they navigate their next steps.
This trip turns out to be precisely what Mona needed. Her growth throughout the novel was incredible. She becomes a strong woman who finally learns to stand up for herself in every aspect of her life. I was cheering her on the entire way.
And as a bonus, the trip to Iceland was perfect! The descriptions were so vivid and easy to visualize. It became one of my favorite parts of the story.
This is a beautifully written second-chance romance that will make you want to book a trip to Iceland immediately!
Final Score 4/5
