Book Review: A Holly Brown Christmas
Book: A Holly Brown Christmas
Author: Samantha Chase
Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for an advanced audio copy.
A Holly Brown Christmas is the exact reason why Samantha Chase is an instant read for me. This is a fun and feel-good holiday romance.
Holly Brown loves helping to plan her office Christmas party every year. One reason is getting to spend time with the boss’s son, Lucas. This year, the owners announced they are not having a party due to their divorce.
Lucas gets pressure from his friends to have the party anyway to get in the spirit. Holly is more than willing to help plan.
Holly is a wonderful person, but romantically comes across as desperate with how much the party means to her, just for the close proximity to Lucas. Even some of her actions really gave off desperate vibes, and it made me feel bad for her more than like her in some scenarios. Lucas was definitely more likable and was an excellent balance to Holly’s needy personality.
This book won’t reinvent the wheel for holiday romance, but you know exactly what you will get from it, and that’s a well-written feel-good story. This should be on every romance fan’s list to check out this holiday.
Final score: 4/5
