Book Review: A Clean Kill
Book: A Clean Kill

Thank you NetGalley and Brilliance Publishing for an advanced audio copy.
I love action movies but find it hard to get into action-heavy books. A Clean Kill is a book that has a lot of action and it filled the void I have been missing with books.
The story has multiple POVs and the main POV is of Special Agent Garret Mann. Mann is the head of a team called ARTEMIS which specializes in hunting down cartel-related killings.
ARTEMIS is hunting a serial killer starting in Minnesota and ending in New Mexico this was a fun ride with a lot of action. The action scenes were my favorite part of the book. I find it hard to read scenes with shootouts and other action movie tropes and visualize them. This book was great about the way these scenes played out making it so easy to visualize. I wish the writing was this consistent when it came to the plot.
I found the plot hard to follow with all the POVs and it not always being clear who we are currently following. Some slower scenes away from the action seemed to drag and set up a story for these series to jump off on but I just found myself losing focus. As a lead character, Mann was not bad but he also failed to fully pull me in and get me invested.
This book sets up a series and I will be here for the ride.
Final score: 3/5
