This is the second book in the Rachel Krall series but you do not need to have read the first one to enjoy this book. I did not read the first one but after reading this I will absolutely go back and read the first. n

Rachel hosts a true crime podcast and gets in the middle of an active investigation. The true-crime podcast plot line is something that has been done a lot in recent years but this one did not feel like those others. This one felt different and better. n

The story has Rachel meeting a criminal in prison who may have summoned her. There are a string of disappearances, one of these being an influencer who is the only person to ever visit the criminal who summoned Rachel.n

The book was fully from Rachel’s point of view except for excerpts from her podcast where she summed up a lot of the info she has learned on the case.n

I loved this book so much and I can’t wait to start the first book. I have just one issue with this book but it’s a spoiler. After you read it, which you should, you will know what I mean here. Why would you do that if you needed to stay hidden? That I do not get, but everything else is amazing!
