Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an advanced audio copy.
One of my favorite things in life is when a book sucks you in right from the first chapter. That’s what happened here and I finished this book in almost one sitting.
Every year on Halloween Sam and his friends go to what they call “The Dark Place”. They each go in there and tell the dark place their deepest and darkest secrets. They do it alone, no one is there to hear it. Now all their secrets are coming out. How does anyone know what they told the dark place?
Sam and all of his friends get a message from the same person and this person knows everything they have done and everything they have told the dark place and they are not afraid to use that knowledge to control Sam and his friends.
This is a wild game of cat and mouse and I was shocked just how deep it went. Sam is a former child star and I expected the reason they were getting messed with had something to do with that. I love when I am wrong. This was so much better than that reason.
This is a book you do not want to miss.
